75% Cabernet Sauvignon 9% Merlot, 7% Malbec 5% Petit Verdot 4% Cabernet Franc
You might call this our workhorse Cabernet, although it is really a Bordeaux style blend. It’s a tremendous value for this style and quality of wine. It would cost twice as much if it was from Napa and not be as friendly.
It is typical in California for the odd numbered vintages to produce bigger wines than the even numbered ones. So, the '05 Cabernet is a bit more robust than was the '04. It's still a "Sonoma" style Cabernet, subtle and elegant yet the Cabernet shows a bit more tannin than did the '04. Those who like big Cabernets will prefer the 2005. 600 cases made.
